Exciting Developments in Bale: Boosting Tourism and the Local Economy

Great news for the Bale region of Ethiopia! There's a wave of investment in tourism and road infrastructure that’s not only set to boost the local economy but also enhance the experience for visitors.

Enhancing Your Visit with New Lodges

If you love nature, you’ll be thrilled to know that the Bale Mountains National Park, a true gem for biodiversity, is about to get even better. The Dinsho Lodge, which is situated right in the park, will be completed soon, offering a fantastic place to stay. And that’s not all! The nearly finished Sof Omer Luxury Lodge is designed to support Ethiopia’s Ten-Year Strategic Plan, focusing on tourism as a key player in economic growth. This luxurious lodge will enhance your experience while visiting the famous Sof Omer Cave, making it an even more enjoyable destination.

**Improving Access with Better Roads**

To make it easier for everyone to explore this beautiful region, the Robe–Goro–Sof Omer–Ginir Junction Road Upgrading Project is in full swing! This project is designed to:

- Connect the productive agricultural areas of East Bale and Bale with central Ethiopia.

- Make traveling between major attractions, like the Sof Omer Cave and Bale Mountains National Park, much smoother.

With 29 kilometers of urban and rural roads being constructed to high standards, including five new bridges that range from 12 to 140 meters long, you can expect more reliable and robust connections to explore all that Bale has to offer. We can’t wait for you to experience the natural beauty and rich culture of our region!
